Ingredients
3 tablespoons of butter 4 kohl rabi, peeled and diced 200g thick ham, diced 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley 3 egg yolks 1 cup of double cream 2 tablespoons of flour Salt and freshly ground black pepper Pinch of ground nutmeg
Method
- Heat oven to 180°C (350°F), or gas mark 4.
- Melt the butter in a frying pan, before adding the diced kohl rabi. Gently cook for 10 minutes.
- Beat the egg yolks, before whisking in the double cream, flour and seasoning to create a sauce.
- Cover the bottom of an oven-proof casserole dish with half of the cooked kohl rabi.
- Place layers of diced ham and parsley on top, before covering with the remaining cooked kohlrabi.
- Drizzle the sauce over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until it is lightly browned on top.
